Born out of the need for additional local Hunt Test and Field Trials, a group of like minded dog lovers founded the First State Retriever Club. With the help of countless volunteers and dog enthusiast FSRC has grown into a large group of energetic members ranging from the rookie handler to the pro trainer competing at the national level. One thing is for sure, at First State you will always find a willing member to help mentor young handlers and people new to the sport. Our core belief is giving back to a sport that has give so much to so many wonderful dogs and handlers over the years.

Based in Greenwood, DE, FSRC serves the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Our mission is to further the advancement of and promote waterfowl hunting, hunt tests and field trials by holding monthly training days and AKC sanctioned events. We welcome all AKC Retriever breeds, including Labradors, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Water Spaniels, Golden Retrievers, and more.
